Abstract:
The standard lore attributes gravity to the curvature of the spacetime as dictated by Einstein equations. I will discuss the conventional character of this association and present alternative geometrical frameworks where gravity can be alternatively ascribed to torsion and to non-metricity resulting in theories that reproduce the dynamics of General Relativity. Finally, I will discuss how going beyond the General Relativity equivalents leads to pathological theories.
