Abstract:
Smooth Gaussian models play an important role in spatial Statistics as well as many other fields as Optics or Physics. In this talk we present the Rice method for smooth random fields and illustrate it on several problems: Classical problems of Spatial Statistics; The Null space problem in compressed sensing; the study of specular points of random sea-waves and the number of roots of systems of random polynomials.
