Abstract:
This is an introductory course to the applications of the theory of spectral zeta functions, and the heat equation to the physics of quantum fields (QFT). In particular the attention will be focused on the computation of vacuum expectation values in QFTs at zero and non­zero temperature, and the Casimir effect.
